To put things into perspective and to realize the power of using RFID technology to do a 100% complete inventory of a location, consider this, traditionally one would have to freeze operations, and use a crew of people to manually count or barcode scan every item one at a time, input the data, consolidate the data… etc. Alternatively today, one person can perform a full inventory of a 5000sqft space in less than one hour using the Senitron RFID solution.
All it takes is 2 steps;
Step 1 – Hands-Free RFID hardware – the hands-free RFID hardware which blankets the location reads the inventory automatically into the Senitron dashboard. This usually means 85% to 99% of your inventory will be read in less than 1 hour.
Step 2 – Hand-Held RFID scanner – if the location contains, very small RFID tags, or items which are hidden under metal shelving’s, or other anti-RFID material, or area’s where ceiling RFID hardware is lacking, use the Senitron app on your hand-held RFID scanner to scan those items in, and upload with a push of a button.
That’s it, taking the full inventory is done. Simply visit the Senitron inventory page and click the export button to download the full inventory of the location.
Analyzing & Comparing the Inventory Now that the inventory is done, you may want to see more details, such as which items have a lower than expected quantity, or which items have a higher than expected quantity. These details and more can be accessed on the Senitron dashboard “Compare” page (Menu: Reports and Logs > Compare)
The compare page operates by comparing the Senitron RFID quantities versus a 3rd party software (example POS software, WHM software, ERP software).
First, you export the inventory from the 3rd party software. Second, you import the exported file into the Senitron Compare page, by clicking the import button. The file import will take a few minutes to import and process, once completed, the dashboard will update and display the important items, such as;
Shrinkage – The shrinkage value is automatically calculated and displayed in the section “Total # Items LS has more than SN” (Example: “$17942 337 Total # Items LS has more than SN” In this example, there is 337 quantity of items less in Senitron than LS (Lightspeed POS). You may export the list, and import it into the 3rd party software to correct the 3rd party software.) Discovered Inventory – Opposite to shrinkage, you may discover inventory which the 3rd party software was not aware of. This value is displayed as “Total # Items SN has more than LS” (Example: “$32077 215 Total # Items SN has more than LS” In this example, there are 215 item quantities which Senitron shows you have more of than the 3rd party software. You may export the list, and import it into the 3rd party software to correct the 3rd party software.)
Senitron Quantities – Senitron calculates and displays the quantities of items in stock, using the data it has received from the hands-free and hand-held RFID hardware. In addition to that, it only displays the items which have a status which is elected to be included in the inventory, such as items with the status of “Live” or “Pending Visibility” This means items which have the status “Sold” or “Transferred Out” will not be displayed as a part of the inventory, even though the item may physically still be in the location. This brings up the following question “what if real legitimate inventory is accidentally marked to status “Sold?” In this case, Senitron has an additional page to display “Items which have been Sold” but are still present in the location. (Menu: Alerts > Sold & Present Tags)
Sold & Present Tags – this page displays assets which have been marked to be removed from the Sentron inventory, but yet are present in the physical space, and this is getting detected by the hands-free/hand-held RFID hardware.
