Shoe Store Inventory in Minutes with RFID
Wirelessly count every shoe box, size and display pair with RFID. Put RFID labels on your boxes and a handheld reader counts whole stockroom walls at a time — no scanning boxes one by one. Counts, receiving, transfers and finding items all get dramatically faster, and your POS stays in sync.
How Shoe & Footwear Stores Use Senitron RFID
Count the stockroom wall of boxes in minutes
A handheld reads the labels on shoe boxes stacked floor to ceiling, so the whole stockroom is counted without pulling boxes.
Every size, every width
Counts are per size and width, so you see which sizes are really in stock before telling a customer you do not have it.
Find the box faster
Use the handheld finder to go straight to the box in a crowded stockroom while the customer is waiting on the bench.
Balance sizes across stores
Move a size run to the store that needs it with a scanned transfer slip that updates both locations in the POS.
Apply RFID Labels. Count Like a Wizard.
Put RFID labels on your inventory, then wave the handheld reader past your shelves — it counts everything wirelessly in minutes, no scanning item by item.
- Put the RFID label on the shoe box end, next to the size label
- One label per box: counts are by size and width
- Read whole stacks and high shelves without line of sight
- Print and encode labels in the store from your POS catalog
Super-Fast Shoe Store Inventory Counts
No more closing early to count boxes. Press Start and walk the display wall and the stockroom stacks with a handheld RFID reader — it reads whole stacks of shoe boxes at once, without line of sight. Upload to the Senitron dashboard, review any discrepancies, and with one click push the corrected quantities back to your POS.
Find the Right Pair and Size Fast
“Do you have it?” gets answered on the spot. Find any tagged item with the handheld’s Geiger finder — it beeps faster as you get closer — or look it up on the dashboard map.
RFID Transfer Slips
Transfer inventory between your shoe store locations wirelessly. Customers tell us this is the feature they love most — often even more than RFID cycle counting. Scan the items going out, choose the destination store and submit — Senitron creates the transfer in your POS and prints a packing list. At the receiving store, one scan validates the shipment in seconds, highlights anything missing and emails management.
Size Runs, Pairs and Display Shoes
A shoe store sells from two places at once: the display shoe on the wall and the boxed pairs in the stockroom. Senitron keeps both right, size by size and width by width.
- Complete size runs: every count shows which sizes and widths of a style are missing, so you reorder or transfer before a run is broken.
- Display shoes and boxes counted apart: tag the display shoe on its own and label every box, so a count shows the wall is full and the pair is in the back.
- Restock the wall after a sale: on Shopify POS, scanning the RFID tag at checkout records the exact pair sold and triggers a replenishment alert when that size is in the back room.
- Receive cartons in one pass: read a whole carton of shoe boxes at the back door and compare it with the purchase order before anything is shelved.
- Labels sized for the box end: the compact 1.77 x 0.71 in label fits next to the size label. See the RFID label catalog.

Shoe Store RFID: Common Questions
How long does a full inventory count take in a shoe store?
Minutes. A handheld RFID reader reads hundreds of boxes per second without line of sight, so the display wall and the whole stockroom are counted in minutes instead of hours.
Can associates find a size in the stockroom faster?
Yes. Look the shoe up on the handheld and the Geiger finder beeps faster as you get closer, so the right size and width comes out in seconds while the customer waits.
Does RFID help with missing display shoes and mismatched pairs?
Yes. Every count shows which display pairs and boxes are missing, so lost demo shoes and boxes in the wrong spot are found right away.
Does Senitron work with my POS?
Yes. Senitron works with Lightspeed, Shopify, Heartland, NCR Counterpoint, QuickBooks, Vend, Retail Pro and Treez, and syncs every adjustment back to your POS with one click. For enterprise, Senitron integrates with ERPs including NetSuite, Acumatica and Microsoft Dynamics 365 / Business Central, alongside your POS.
What does it cost, and is there a guarantee?
Software with seven-days-a-week support runs $200 to $500+ per location per month depending on your setup, month to month with no contract. One-time hardware: handheld scanners $1,550 to $3,500, printers $2,000 to $3,500, loss-prevention systems from $2,500, and labels $75 to $110 per roll of 1,000. Multi-location discounts, a price-match guarantee (we match or beat any comparable quote, apples to apples) and a 30-day money-back guarantee.
Can you read RFID tags that brands already put in shoes?
Yes. More and more footwear brands ship shoes with RFID already inside. Tags that use the standard GS1 encoding are read as they are, so you only tag the pairs that arrive without one.
We already use another RFID system. Do we have to re-tag?
In most cases, no. Tags that use the standard GS1 encoding keep working, and tags your vendors already apply are read as they are. Many retailers switch to Senitron for its POS integrations, features and support.
Should we tag the display shoe, the box, or both?
Both. Label every box and tag display shoes on their own, so each count shows what is on the wall and what is in the stockroom separately, and a missing display shoe shows up right away.
Can RFID tell us when a size needs to come out of the stockroom?
Yes. On Shopify POS, associates scan RFID tags at checkout with a small Bluetooth wand or pad. The exact pair sold is recorded, and Senitron sends a replenishment alert when that size is in the back room.
Which RFID label fits a shoe box?
The compact 1.77 x 0.71 in (45 x 19 mm) label goes on the box end next to the size label and reads from 10 to 20 feet, so stacked boxes are counted from the aisle.
How quickly can we get started?
Setup and training take about 2-4 hours, done remotely by our US-based team, and hardware usually arrives within days, so most stores are counting with RFID within a week. Training sessions are recorded and support is unlimited.
