Receive and Put Away by Scan
Picking is only as good as knowing where things are. Senitron starts at the receiving dock.
- Purchase order receiving: pick the PO on the handheld and read the whole delivery at once; Senitron flags correct, over-received, under-received and unexpected items, then posts the receipt back to NetSuite, Business Central, Dynamics NAV or Shopify.
- Put-away to bins: scan the items, scan the bin, shelf or rack barcode (or pick the bin from a list), and Senitron records them in that location.
- Live counts by warehouse, zone and bin, ready for picking paths and wave building.
Three Ways to Manage Bin Locations
Simple bin management
Each SKU has fixed home bins (for example 1A1 and 3C1) shared by all your warehouses. Ideal for a single warehouse, or warehouses laid out the same, where items rarely move. Managed from the web portal or the handheld.
Location-level bin management
Bins are set per warehouse and root zone, so the same SKU can live in 1A1 in one building and 3A5 in another. Ideal for companies with two or more warehouses.
Advanced (serial-level) bin management
Every individual item has its own bin, so unit 1 can sit in 1A2 and unit 2 in 10C5. The most accurate option, ideal when the same item is stored in many places — and the foundation for full wave picking.
Fixed readers add live location
Add fixed RFID readers and Senitron combines three location signals — fixed-reader zones, handheld scans and scan-to-bin — so pickers are sent to where items really are.
Pick the Way Your Warehouse Works
Start simple and add structure as you grow — every level runs on the same RFID platform.
- Geiger picking: no bins or put-away needed. Send a pick list to the handheld and it beeps faster as the picker gets closer to each item, with fixed-reader zones narrowing the search.
- Bin-routed picking: items live in set bins, and the handheld shows the bin for each line so pickers walk straight to it.
- Wave picking: orders are grouped into waves and sorted by walking distance, with carts, sub-bins and RFID verification on every item.
- Works with individually tagged items, container tags with quantities, and barcoded items in the same pick.
Wave Picking for Sales Orders and Transfers
Senitron imports orders from Shopify, NetSuite or your ERP and builds waves automatically every 30 minutes (or on demand) from inventory that is available and in a bin.
- Single-order waves: high volumes of one-line e-commerce orders are grouped by picking path and picked from nearest to farthest, with no backtracking.
- Multi-order cart picking: the first item scanned assigns a cart sub-bin to an order, and every following item tells the picker exactly which sub-bin it goes in — no sorting after the pick.
- Nothing blocks the line: available items are picked right away, and items not yet in stock go to a daily Chase List so no order is forgotten.
- Transfer order waves: split a 1,000-unit DC-to-store transfer into several waves, pick them in parallel, and Senitron rolls them back into the transfer and submits it; the store receives it by RFID scan.
- Clear status from start to finish: created, firmed, picking, picked, shipped and completed, visible on the dashboard and the handhelds.
Your ERP Stays the System of Record
Senitron is the execution layer on the warehouse floor: purchase orders, sales orders and transfer orders come from NetSuite, Microsoft Dynamics 365 / Business Central, Acumatica or Shopify, and receipts, fulfillments and transfers are posted back in near real time. RFID Order Picking: Common Questions
What is wave picking?
Wave picking groups many orders into batches (waves) that are released to pickers together and sequenced by location, so each picker walks one efficient route instead of making a separate trip for every order. Senitron builds waves automatically every 30 minutes from orders whose items are available in a bin.
How does RFID improve order picking accuracy?
Every item the picker takes is read by the RFID handheld and checked against the order line, so a wrong size, color or item is caught on the spot instead of at the customer. Pick results update the order and the ERP automatically.
Do I need bin locations to use RFID picking?
No. Geiger picking works without bins: the handheld beeps faster as you get closer to each item. Bin-routed picking and wave picking use bin locations, which Senitron manages at the SKU level, per warehouse, or for each individual item.
What happens when some items on an order are out of stock?
Available items are waved and picked right away, and the missing items go to a daily Chase List wave, so pickable inventory is never blocked and back-ordered items stay visible until they arrive.
Can Senitron pick transfer orders to stores?
Yes. A large transfer can be split into several waves and picked in parallel; Senitron rolls the waves back into the transfer, submits it, and the receiving store verifies it with an RFID scan.
Which systems does Senitron integrate with for picking?
Sales orders, transfer orders and purchase orders come from NetSuite, Microsoft Dynamics 365 / Business Central, Dynamics NAV, Acumatica or Shopify, and results are posted back in near real time. Other systems connect through import and export or a custom integration.
